Pianodrome to host album launch gig
Scottish singer-songwriter Wave Of The Flood (the musical alter ego of Lindsay Strachan) will celebrate the release of her debut album FortyFive, with a special launch performance at Pianodrome, Bruntsfield on Saturday 13 June 2026.
Set within the striking surroundings of the Pianodrome - a unique circular amphitheatre built from reclaimed pianos set inside a historic former church - the evening promises an intimate and immersive live experience.
Marking the culmination of an ambitious year-long creative project, FortyFive saw Strachan release one single per month across her 45th year, celebrating both a personal milestone and the enduring legacy of the original single – the 45rpm record.
At the launch show, audiences will hear the album performed in full, alongside the stories behind the songs - offering a rare insight into the personal experiences that shaped the record.
Blending poetic songwriting with rich, acoustic arrangements, Wave Of The Flood’s music explores themes of love, loss, longing and hope. Joined by Colin MacGregor on guitar, and John McDonald on double bass, this rich acoustic sound will no doubt be stunning in this unique venue.
The Pianodrome’s atmospheric setting – housed within the 130-year-old St Oswald’s Centre – provides a fitting backdrop for an album built on storytelling and emotional depth, inviting audiences into a shared, resonant listening experience.
